Elma Hefner, owner of B & E Log Homes/Music and her husband, Bill, opened the business in 1999 in Mill Point, West Virginia.
Bill couldn't find a guitar with a neck width that suited his fingerstyle playing, and after reviewing dozens of handcrafted guitars, in 1992 he contacted John Greven about building a J Herringbone Deluxe with Koa back and sides and Englemann Spruce top.
The Koa J was used in recording a cassette tape at WVMR Studios, Frost, WV in 1995 by the Hefner Family, consisting of Bill, his wife Elma, daughters Julia and Melissa Totten, son Jeff Hefner, and son-in-law Michael Totten. After the business was opened John Greven was contacted and we became one of a select few to become dealers for Greven Guitars.
